Book Review: Girls Hold Up This World

Jada Pinkett Smith's (yes, THAT Jada) lovely poem "Girls Hold Up This World" has been wonderfully adapted into a beautiful picture book for girls of all ages. This is a book to share with mothers, daughters, aunts and more.

The pictures show girls doing what girls do, karate, cartwheels, yoga, basketball. Reaching beyond just "beautiful" pictures the book shows love and care for girls of all backgrounds.

The poem is easily understood, even for the kindergarten set and wonderful read aloud.

Anyone looking for an affirming book for girls of all colors can find what they're looking for in this book.
