We are putting our best foot forward for spring, sprucing up the tootsies and polishing the little piggies. Shouldn't your little girl do the same? A mom and daughter spa night sounds just divine. Green for St. Patrick's Day

We hope you enjoyed some corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread and possibly a nice stout beer to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Here at my girl, we're thinking of green a little differently now. Green, environmentally conscious, eco friendly, sustainable. How can we impact our world in a positive way?

Barbara Kingsolver's book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle details her journey from living just like everyone else, to raising and sourcing all her family's food within a 100 mile radius for one year. Her book gives practical ideas, silly stories and some great recipes. While initially it seems kind of crazy to make such an abrupt change, by the end of the book I was hooked. I felt that it was indeed possible to source more locally and less from afar. While I don't have my own chickens, yet (my husband is NOT on board yet) I loved reading about Barbara Kingsolver's journey and feel inspired to improve my own life a bit.
